Ronald M. Abramson
Managing Partner
Ronald Abramson is a lifelong firearms enthusiast, competitor and instructor. He currently holds the rank of Major in the Colorado Mounted Rangers, who trace their heritage to 1861, and is responsible for the statewide law enforcement auxiliary’s Office of Professional Standards. Ron’s office is responsible for training and professional standards for the nearly 200 sworn Rangers across Colorado.
Ron is a Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor receiving extensive training at the Colorado State Patrol Academy as a Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor as well as a Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle Instructor. He also currently holds credentials as a Law Enforcement Pepper Spray Instructor, a Glock Law Enforcement Armorer, a Glock Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor, an NRA Pistol Instructor as well as a Defensive Tactics (PPCT) Instructor, Weapon Retention Instructor, Impact Weapon/Collapsable Baton Instructor and a Pressure Point Control Instructor.
Ron has over 20 years of experience in competitive shooting and training and is a proud member of the Colorado Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association where his extensive experience and training is utilized by many law enforcement agencies across Colorado. Ron has trained at many other fine facilities across the U.S. including both Defensive Handgun and Urban Rifle training under legendary firearms master Clint Smith at Thunder Ranch as well as Handgun training at Front Sight.
Ron has a deep passion for training and as an attorney (who wrote his law school doctoral thesis on the Second Amendment) recognizes the legal ramifications of not receiving proper instruction on the use of a firearm and continuous training thereafter. As a result, Ron utilized his extensive legal training and business experience to create the Second Amendment Firearms Experience (S.A.F.E.), bringing law enforcement quality training and a firearms experience like no other to the beautiful Front Range of Colorado with the Rocky Mountains as its backdrop.
Situated in one of the world’s most beautiful settings, with some of the country’s best and most experienced firearms trainers, with state of the art training facilities, on an unbelievable Ranch of almost 900 acres, S.A.F.E. is the fulfillment of Ron’s passion for firearms training, bringing law enforcement quality training to the general public.

Bob Pabst
General Partner & Director of Training
Bob Pabst has been a full time firearms trainer in Colorado for 10 years and has also delivered firearms training in California, Nevada, Utah, Wyoming, Kansas, Wisconsin and Florida. A strong Second Amendment advocate, Bob has personally trained thousands of students and hundreds of firearms instructors.
He holds the extremely rare NRA Master Training Counselor credential and is an NRA Certified Instructor with all available ratings including Pistol, Personal Protection In The Home, Personal Protection Outside The Home, Advanced Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Chief Range Safety Officer.
Bob is also a Colorado P.O.S.T. Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor through training at the Colorado State Partrol Academy, Glock Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor, Taser Law Enforcement Instructor, Utah Concealed Firearms Instructor and Kansas Concealed Handgun License Instructor. He has also completed many hundreds of hours of firearms training including advanced courses at national schools such as Front Sight in Nevada and continues to train in order to maintain his skill level. Bob is also a factory Certified Glock Armorer.
In addition to his firearms instructor credentials, Bob is also a Regional Counselor (instructor trainer) in the NRA Refuse To Be A Victim program for crime prevention and personal safety as well as a Community Emergency Response Team Instructor.
With over 30 years of combined public company, small business, entrepreneurial experience, Bob understands what it takes to run a successful operation. He embraces the Socratic Method of "teaching without telling" to provide students at all levels with a fun, interactive and effective learning experience. Professionally trained as a speaker, presenter and trainer, Bob brings a new level of effectiveness to firearms training.
Bob is also the Captain of Troop H of the Colorado Mounted Rangers, a statutory law enforcement auxiliary, and a member of many professional firearms associations including the Colorado Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor Association, the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association and the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors.

Kye Javes
Senior Firearms Instructor
Kye Javes is a current local law enforcement officer and a highly regarded certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor. He has had positions in a number of extremely well regarded law enforcement agencies during the past 14 years. He has served as a Lead Firearms Instructor for the past six (6) years for his agency, responsible for firearms training of over 200 sworn officers.
Kye attended the Colorado Sheriff's of Colorado Handgun Instructor School for his Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor certification and attended the Colorado State Patrol Academy for his Law Enforcement Patrol Rifle certification. Kye also holds Law Enforcement Instructor certifications in Shotgun and Less Lethal devices.
In addition to his enormous firearms qualifications, Kye is a very skilled armorer and is a factory certified Law Enforcement armorer for many gun product lines including Glock, Sig Sauer, Springfield (XD/XDm & 1911), Smith & Wesson, Colt (AR15/M16) and Remington (870 Shotgun).
Kye has been a competition shooter for the past 10 years and has won numerous "Three Gun" competitions requiring high skills in handgun, rifle and shotgun. Kye has also trained hundreds of students as a concealed carry instructor as well as kids shooting & safety courses and is highly regarded in the Colorado shooting community for his immensely skilled, but low stress, training style.
Brian Baldwin
Senior Firearms Instructor
Brian Baldwin is a Colorado P.O.S.T. Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor, receiving his training at the extremely highly regarded Colorado State Patrol Academy. He is also an NRA Pistol Instructor and a member of the Colorado Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association. Brian currently serves as Lieutenant Colonel of the Colorado Mounted Rangers, a statewide law enforcement auxiliary. As the state Executive Officer, Brian has statewide oversight for nearly 200 sworn Rangers across Colorado and is responsible for the logistical, tactical and operational control of the organization.
Brian is a lifelong student of the gun and a big fan of the Grand Old Man, Elmer Keith. Keith once wrote, “More time is required to master the handgun than any other type of firearm. To become an expert, one must live with the gun - Only by constant use and practice can one acquire a thorough mastery.” Brian has dedicated his life to living up to this standard and regularly trains and practices this perishable skill. The shooting sports are simply a family affair at the Baldwin home. All three of Brian's children shoot competitively, and his family regularly enjoys outings to train, to go hunting, and often to just plink and shoot for fun.
In addition to being an avid firearms enthusiast, competitor, instructor, and hunter, Brian currently serves as a full time commissioned member of a large metro Sheriff's Department. A proud Colorado native, he traces his family roots back to Baldwins who fought in the Revolutionary War. As it is a longstanding family tradition, Brian is a dedicated supporter of our Second Amendment rights.
Mike Lonergan
Senior Firearms Instructor
Mike Lonergan has been a firearms instructor since 2005, and specializes in working with beginners or those who are initially apprehensive to shoot. Mike has substantial past law enforcement experience as a Police Officer in Chicago, and is currently a First Lieutenant with the Colorado Mounted Rangers.
His credentials include NRA Senior Training Counselor and Certified NRA Instructor for Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, Rifle, Shotgun and Chief Range Safety Officer. Mike's other credentials include Colorado P.O.S.T. Firearms Instructor, Glock Law Enforcement Handgun Instructor, Utah Department of Public Safety Concealed Firearms Instructor, California Department of Justice Concealed Firearms Instructor, and Law Enforcement Pepper Spray Instructor.
Mike has trained at the Colorado State Patrol P.O.S.T. Academy, the Glock Law Enforcement Firearms School (taught by the nationally well known Dennis Tueller), Front Sight and many others. Mike holds memberships with the Colorado Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors Association (CLEFIA), International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Instructors (IALEFI), Colorado Law Enforcement Officers Association (CLEOA) and Retired Peace Officers of Colorado (RPOC).
